Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States, after lung cancer. In 2006, more than 139,000 new cases of colorectal cancer were diagnosed and more than 53,000 people died from this disease. Colorectal cancer screening tests can find precancerous polyps so they can be removed before they turn into cancer, thus preventing the disease. In addition, screening can detect colorectal cancer at an early stage when treatment can be very effective. Call us today at 919-870-1311 to schedule your screening appointment.
Accreditation
We’re proud to announce our recent three-year accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC)—the longest term of accreditation offered by the AAAHC. Status as an accredited organization means that GastroIntestinal Healthcare has passed a series of rigorous and nationally-recognized standards for the provision of quality healthcare set by the AAAHC. Over 4,600 ambulatory health care organizations across the U.S.are currently accredited by the AAAHC. AAAHC is the preeminent leader in developing standards to advance and promote patient safety, quality and value for ambulatory health care through peer-based accreditation processes, education and research. Accreditation is a voluntary process through which an organization is able to measure the quality of its services and performance against nationally recognized standards.
